Football team adds home game to 2014 schedule
The Simpson football team will enjoy a six-game home schedule in 2014 thanks to a delay in renovations to Ramer Field in River Falls, Wis.
The Storm were set to travel to UW-River Falls for their week two matchup against the Falcons on Sept. 13, but the installation of field turf at the Falcons' stadium won't be completed until October. The game will now be played in Indianola, giving the Storm a sixth home game and moving the home-opener up one week.
The original home-opener was Sept. 20 against Illinois Wesleyan.
Fans got to enjoy the first of many dramatic finishes at Buxton Stadium when Simpson hosted River Falls on Sept. 21, 2013. Simpson trailed by nine in the fourth quarter, but quarterback Taylor Nelson scored the winning touchdown on a sneak with 22 seconds left for a 35-34 win.
