Bio

A veteran coach with more than 15 years of experience, Lisa Grefe enters her second season as an assistant women's soccer coach in 2017. She will focus primarily on the goalkeepers.

Grefe currently serves as the head girls' soccer coach at Des Moines North High School. She has also served as an assistant at Emma Willard School in Troy, New York and Ankeny High School. Grefe has a wealth of experience at the club level and has coached collegiately at Grand View and her alma mater, Saint Benedict. 

A Hall of Fame collegiate athlete, Grefe was a first team All-American goalkeeper at Saint Benedict, earning all-region and all-conference honors four times. She was also a member of the Blazer basketball and golf teams. She was inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013.

Following her collegiate career, Grefe played professionally for the W-League's Kansas City Mystics. 

Grefe graduated from Saint Benedict with a degree in Psychology in 2000. She earned a master's degree in Education of Psychology from Springfield College (Mass.) in 2006 and a master's in Leadership Development from Drake University in 2017.
