Storm drop 3-0 result to Wisconsin-Platteville

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Simpson fell at home to regionally ranked Wisconsin-Platteville, 3-0, on Tuesday night.

A first half penalty kick put the Pioneers (6-0-2) on the board in the 36th minute. UWP carried the momentum into the second half where it struck for two more goals in the 54th and lastly in the 74th minute to come away with the victory over Simpson (4-5-1).

GOAL SUMMARY

• UWP's first scoring opportunity came after a Storm foul in the box, resulting in the Pioneers' third PK goal of the season, breaking the scoreless tie.
• A throw-in on the far side, led to an open shot for UWP in the middle of the box, and gave the Pioneers a 2-0 lead in the 54th minute.
• The final goal came 20 minutes on a strike 20 yards out at the top of the box, squeezing past the Storm's defense, and sealing the 3-0 result.

• Simpson recorded six shots in the match, with five coming in the first half.
• Ronaldo Ordaz and Jackson Mears recorded two shots each, with one coming on frame for the duo.
