Bio

Emily Tonn is one of the most decorated players in Simpson women’s basketball history. Tonn was a three-time all-conference guard and was named Iowa Conference MVP in 2000. She helped the Storm to three straight conference championships from 1998-2000, including trips to the NCAA Tournament in 1999 and 2000. The Columbus Multimedia West Region Player of the Year earned All-America accolades from a number of entities following her senior season, including a fourth team selection by D3hoops.com. With 1,207 points, Tonn ranks seventh on Simpson’s all-time scoring list. She graduated with a degree in psychology before receiving a master’s degree in sport/exercise psychology from Argosy University in 2002. Tonn is currently a wellness and psychology teacher and volleyball coach at Tolleson Union High School in Avondale, Ariz. She also serves as head girls’ basketball coach at Veritas Preparatory Academy in Phoenix.
