Gaffney named IIAC Performer of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson women's golfer, Jennifer Gaffney, earned Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Performer of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 22.
A senior from Waukee, Iowa, Gaffney won the Simpson Fall Invitational on Monday and tied for second at the Luther Fall Invitational over the weekend. Gaffney shot an 83 in the 18-hole Simpson Invitational and finished with a 36-hole total of 161 at Luther. Her 78 in Saturday's final round tied for the lowest of the tournament and assured Gaffney her third, top-3 finish of the fall season.
Gaffney will begin defense of her 2012 Iowa Conference Championship this weekend with the first 36 holes of the 72-hole tournament. The first two rounds will be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27-28 at Pheasant Ridge in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
