Swimming and diving teams achieve Scholar All-America status
INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson swimming and diving teams were recently recognized for their work in the classroom for the fall 2013 semester, achieving Scholar All-America status from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
For the second year in a row, both the men's and women's teams earned the honor, the only school in the Iowa Conference to place both teams on the list. To qualify, a team must achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
The Storm experienced great success in 2013-14 under first-year head coach, Tom Caccia. Simpson set a combined 17 school records at the Liberal Arts Championships and saw Christina Amburgy and Kyle McKim earn spots on the All-Liberal Arts Championship Team.
The swimming and diving teams completed their first year at their new home in 2013-14, the Indianola YMCA Natatorium.
