A-R-C tabs Miyeng as Athlete of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- After just two career college matches, freshman Dominek Miyeng has been named the American Rivers Conference Male Athlete and Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Miyeng helped the Simpson men's soccer team rush out to a quick 2-0 start to the season with wins over Augustana and Minnesota Morris this past weekend. In those victories, the Des Moines native tallied two goals and two assists to pace the conference with six points.

As a unit, the Storm currently pace the league with seven goals scored. The offense has kept the pressure on so far this season with 17 corner kicks attempted.

Head coach Rick Isaacson's club is back to work tomorrow evening as they face off against Wis.-Platteville att 6:30 p.m.
