Men’s gymnastics, nine individuals receive CGA academic awards

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Nine members of the inaugural Simpson College men's gymnastics team were named 2023 All-America Scholar-Athletes by the College Gymnastics Association on Monday.

The team also achieved a top 10 standing in the CGA's academic teams list, finishing the 2022-23 academic year with the ninth-highest team grade point average in the country.

Simpson's All-America Scholar Athletes included Camden Bontempo, Alex Catchpole, Christopher Duane, Connor Jenkins, Karim Madkour, Charlie Schneider, Ethan Sipos, Milo Staley and Jake Sweeten. Madkour, Sipos, Staley and Sweeten were first team honorees for attaining a GPA higher than 3.5, while the rest were second team for having a GPA between 3.2-3.499.
