Storm dance squad competes at ISDTA Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Simpson dance team performed at the Iowa State Drill & Dance Team Association College Championships on Friday and ended with two second-place results and one third-place finish at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

The Storm finished second in pom, second in jazz and third in hip-hop with Division I ratings in all three events. In pom, Simpson just clipped Buena Vista with 91.83 points, while the Beavers scored 91. In jazz, the Storm missed tying for first with Central and Wartburg as they scored 81.67 and Simpson ended with 81.5. The team scored 82.75 in hip-hop.

"We were up against some tough competition this year as all of the teams competing were really good, so I'm very happy and proud that we could maintain those top spots in each routine," said head coach Lindsay Taylor."

The Storm compete next in the American Rivers Conference Cheer and Dance Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 16 in Dubuque, Iowa.
