Bio

Since taking over the swimming program at Simpson, Aaron Strain has helped the women’s team reach new heights while developing a men’s team which debuted in 2009.

The 2011-12 seaosn marks Strain’s fourth as the head women’s swimming coach and third as the men’s coach. In the 2009-10 season, Strain led the Storm women to a team-record three dual wins the same year he launched the men’s program.

Strain began his career at Simpson as a volunteer assistant in 2007-08. He is currently the head women’s coach at Indianola High School, and from 2003-05, Strain served as the director of the Indianola Swim Club. He began his coaching career with the Loveland (Colo.) Swim Club from 1991-92.

As a member of the Loveland High School Swim Team, Strain was named All-Conference, All-State, won two state titles and was elected captain as a senior. Strain competed on the Division I college level at University of Wyoming.
