A two-time Iowa Conference MVP as a player, Moran Lonning is in her sixth season as the top assistant coach at Simpson in 2021-22. 

A 2016 graduate of Luther College, Lonning is just the sixth player in Iowa Conference history to win Most Valuable Player honors twice, taking home the honor in 2015 and 2016. Lonning led the Norse to the NCAA Tournament in 2015 and an IIAC regular season title in 2016. She was an honorable mention All-American as a senior, serving as a team captain during her senior year. She also took home the league's Defensive Player of the Year award in 2015.

Lonning began her collegiate career at the University of Northern Iowa, spending three seasons with the Panthers before transferring to Luther.
