Grand View beats Buena Vista to open Simpson Classic

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Shelby Beatty and Pee Wee Porter scored 14 points apiece to lead five Grand View players in double figures in an 84-60 win over Buena Vista on the first day of the Simpson Classic on Friday.

The Vikings (4-4) shot better than 50 percent from the field to win their third game in a row.

Susan Kies scored 21 points to lead the Beavers (3-3), who saw their winning streak snapped at three games.

Grand View outscored Buena Vista 32-11 in the final 14 minutes of the first half to put the game out of reach.
