The 2017 season marks Kacee West's second season as an assistant softball coach for the Storm. A former Storm hurler, West will help out with the pitchers.

West - the daughter of longtime assistant Penney Arey - graduated form Simpson in 2013 as a four-year letterwinner for the Storm. West earned all-conference and all-region honors as a junior in 2012 when she won 26 games. She ranks second in school history in wins, appearances, starts and innings pitched, behind only Hall of Famer Kelly Schade Fry. West finished her career with 60 wins and 389 strikeouts.
