Bio

In one of the greatest stretches in Simpson women’s basketball history, Carrie Larson Kuhlmann ’09 was at the center of the success created on the hardwood during her four years in a Storm jersey. Kuhlmann helped lead the women’s basketball team to three conference regular season and tournament titles in 2006, 2008 and 2009, four NCAA Tournament berths and two Sweet 16 appearance. Kuhlmann was part of teams that only lost three games at home in 47 contests and maintained a 98-19 career record under head coach Brian Niemuth’s tutelage.

Kuhlmann was named a Division III News Fifth Team All-American and D3Hoops.com All-West Third Team selection after being selected as the IIAC Most Valuable Player. Kulhmann ended her senior season in 2009 after averaging 11.3 points per contest connecting on 41 percent of her 3-point attempts. Kuhlmann tallied 804 career points and hauled in just under 350 career rebounds.

Kulhmann graduated from Simpson in 2009 with a degree in sports administration. She went on to receiver her master’s degree in K-12 Teaching in 2012 from Hastings College.
