Casey Hagarty begins her fourth season as assistant softball coach for the Storm in 2021-22.

Hagarty took over the head coaching position at Newton High School in 2018 and took the team to state with a third-place finish. She was named Female Coach of the Year for Newton Community School District in 2019.

She previously served as a pitching coach from 2016-17 at Grinnell College. In 2015-17, Hagarty was a pitching consultant/volunteer at Florida Tech University. She helped aid the Panthers to a 26-8 record in 2016. Hagarty has also been an instructor at Florida Tech's summer camp the past two years as an active clinician, as well as doing private pitching and hitting instruction in her home state of Iowa.

Hagarty was head coach at Oswego State from 2010-14. In 2013, Hagarty was named SUNYAC Sandra Hollander Coach of the Year after guiding the Lakers to a 17-20 overall record and a 9-9 conference record to earn the second consecutive sixth seed in the SUNYAC Championships. She took the Lakers to three SUNYAC Championships during her four-year reign. In the 2013 conference tournament, the Lakers were the first No. 6 seed in SUNYAC history to knock of the No. 1 seed. In three seasons, she has coached four All-SUNYAC players, including First Team All-SUNYAC and ECAC Upstate All-Star First Team honoree Tori Trovato.

Previous to coaching at Oswego State, she served as a volunteer assistant pitching coach at NCAA Division II University of Massachusetts at Lowell, where she assisted with scouting, recruiting and pitching fundamentals.

Prior to joining the staff at UMass-Lowell, Hagarty had been a volunteer assistant pitching coach at SUNY Plattsburgh from 1999-2010. Hagarty worked individually with the pitching staff to develop fundamentals, create individualized workout programs and call pitches during contests. While with the Cardinals, she served as the varsity softball coach at Baldwinsville Central, developing a winning tradition for the program. Hagarty has also been an active clinician and private instructor in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa and Oklahoma since 1992.

Hagarty competed collegiately at the University of Oklahoma where she was recruited as a pitcher after being a three-time all-state high school player in Iowa before converting to an outfielder. She was named Freshman Female Athlete of the Year at Oklahoma, and later placed into the Oklahoma Women's Athletic Hall of Fame as the first player to score a run at the Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

Hagarty received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Oklahoma in 1992. She continued her graduate studies and completed her Elementary Education degree also at the University of Oklahoma. After moving to New York, she received her Master of Science degree in Education from SUNY Oswego in 2000. She had been a teacher in the Baldwinsville Central School District in New York since 1999 and returned to her home state in 2015 to continue teaching.
