Bio
Jesse Harris epitomized the term, “student-athlete.” The Division III winner of the 2004 Woody Hayes Award for the nation’s most outstanding male scholar-athlete, Harris collected numerous honors for his performance on the court and in the classroom throughout his career. He was the Iowa Conference’s Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2002-03, earned an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship in 2003, was a two-time First Team Academic All-American and a two-time finalist for the Jostens Trophy (Division III Player of the Year). He graduated Suma Cum Laude with a 3.97 GPA in history and political science, was named Simpson’s Most Outstanding Senior in both departments and was Simpson’s nominee and eventually a finalist to represent the state of Iowa for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship. On the court, he was a four-time, All-Iowa Conference performer, earning first team honors in 2001, 2002 and 2003. He was a DIII News Honorable Mention All-American in 2003 and his 1,573 career points are fifth all-time at Simpson.
