DECORAH, Iowa - Amber Johnson scored the game-winning goal in the 75th minute and the Simpson women's soccer team beat Luther 2-1 on Saturday.
Megan Petersen made nine saves in goal for the Storm (11-5-2, 5-3 Iowa Conference), who trailed 1-0 after four minutes and were outshot 25-10.
Down 1-0 for most of the game, Simpson broke into the scoring column in the 63rd minute on a goal by Katherine Bird.
Nicole Dillenburg assisted on both goals for Simpson.
Kate Manning scored the first goal of the game in the fourth minute for the Norse (8-8-1, 4-3). Goalkeeper Cydney Haaland made three saves.
Simpson is assured a spot in the upcoming Iowa Conference Tournament, but its seed is yet to be determined. The Storm could end up as high as the No. 3 seed or as low as No. 5.
Simpson closes the regular season Tuesday when it hosts St. Mary (Neb.) on senior night. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
