Storm race to third place finish at Dutch Open
PELLA, Iowa - Competing at the Dutch Open, the Simpson women's cross country team, led by top finishers Ava French and Kalia Stover, finished third overall at the meet.
French continued her impressive 2025 campaign, leading the Storm with a time of 24:44.7 minutes, placing her 17th in scoring. Stover wrapped 18th in scoring with a time of 25:17.3 minutes, second best on the team. Brylee Schechinger, and Kate Huisinga broke the 26-minute mark, and placed third and fourth on the team respectively. Elie Tuhn, Araceli Tapetillo and Chloe Wierson rounded out the top seven for Simpson.
"Our women ran hard tonight on a tough course," said head coach Heath Moenck. "I thought we battled hard and put out a great effort. Chloe Wierson and Araceli Tapetillo really ran well which was exciting to see."
