Storm fall to No. 20 Dubuque in home conference match

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College women's volleyball team came up short against No. 20 Dubuque on Friday night, falling in straight sets inside Cowles Fieldhouse.

The Spartans (22-3, 6-0 A-R-C) remained unbeaten in American Rivers Conference play with set wins of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-17. Simpson (16-7, 3-3 A-R-C) battled throughout the night, keeping each of the first two frames within striking distance before the nationally ranked visitors pulled away late.

The Storm held the upper hand in several key areas, posting a 43-37 advantage in kills, a 63-55 edge in digs, and outhitting the Spartans .217 to .176. Dubuque capitalized at the service line with 10 aces, while Simpson was hampered by nine service errors.
