Simpson drops back-and-forth affair at Coe
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Simpson College women's volleyball team took sets two and four but saw the fifth set slip away, falling to Coe 3-2 in Saturday's American Rivers Conference action.
Coe (14-7, 4-1 A-R-C) jumped out to an early start in the match and won set one 25-19. Back-to-back aces from Jada Schmidt gave Simpson a 15-13 edge in the second before the Storm (15-6, 3-2 A-R-C) went on an 8-3 run to create more breathing room. A kill from Morgan DenBeste gave Simpson the 25-22 victory.
