Six standouts achieve all-conference recognition
INDIANOLA, Iowa – Six members of the Simpson College women's soccer team earned recognition on the 2025 All-American Rivers Conference teams, announced Friday by the league office.
The Storm placed five individuals on the first team, including Abby Bell, Pepper Earle, Ally Hoffa, Mya Jansen, and Elle Street. Additionally, goalkeeper Meredith Downs was selected to the honorable mention squad.
The 2025 campaign continued Simpson's run of sustained success under head coach Jeremy Reinert. The Storm closed the year with an 11-6-2 record, marking their fifth straight season with double-digit victories and seventh consecutive top-three finish in the conference standings. Simpson reached the A-R-C Tournament semifinals for the fifth consecutive year.
Abby Bell, first team
- Sophomore from Polk City, Iowa
- Earns her first all-conference recognition
- Scored six goals overall, including three in conference play
- Led Simpson with seven total assists, with four coming against league opponents
- Finished second on the team with 19 points
- Scored game-winning goals against Central and Buena Vista in A-R-C play
- Registered two assists against Coe and tallied three points against Luther
Pepper Earle, first team
- Junior from Des Moines, Iowa
- Earns her first all-conference recognition
- Played 892 minutes across 13 starts
- Tied for second on the team with five assists
- Helped the Storm to seven shutouts, including three in A-R-C play
- Scored a goal in Simpson's 3-1 win over Buena Vista
Ally Hoffa, first team
- Junior from Des Moines, Iowa
- Earns first team recognition after honorable mention accolades a year ago
- Tied for second in the conference with 13 goals and 31 points overall
- Led the league with six game-winning goals
- Scored six of her goals in conference play, with gamewinners against Coe and Luther
- Contributed five assists to tie for seventh in the conference
- Had three multi-goal performances, including one in the A-R-C Tournament against Luther
Mya Jansen, first team
- Senior from Muscatine, Iowa
- Earns her first all-conference recognition at Simpson to go with a previous honorable mention honor
- Scored three goals overall, including two in conference play
- Dished out three assists, all against A-R-C foes
- Netted the game-winning goal against her former team, Wartburg
- Recorded a season-high four points in a 3-1 win over Central
Elle Street, first team
- Senior from Ankeny, Iowa
- Adds first team all-conference accolades to her resume after earning honorable mention accolades in 2024
- Started all 19 games and led the team with 1580 minutes played
- Scored two goals and handed out two assists for a career high six points
- Helped the Storm to seven shutouts, including three in A-R-C play
- Named A-R-C Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 29
Meredith Downs, honorable mention
- Junior from Johnston, Iowa
- Adds honorable mention accolades to her resume after earning first team all-conference in 2024
- Played in 16 matches, totalling over 1356 minutes
- Went 9-5-1 overall, including 6-2 against A-R-C teams
- Registered an .843 save percentage in conference play
