DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Simpson College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Dubuque on the road Tuesday evening.
After a scoreless first half, the Spartans (6-1-6, 4-0-1 A-R-C) broke through in the 49th minute when Alyssa Tranchita converted a penalty kick to take the lead. Dubuque added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute as Bree Swenson finished a pass from Tranchita to secure the result.
Meredith Downs made nine saves for the Storm (7-5-2, 3-2-0 A-R-C).

Simpson continues its road stretch on Saturday against Buena Vista. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
