No. 18 Loras snaps Simpson’s unbeaten streak

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Simpson College women's soccer team saw its five-game unbeaten streak come to an end Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 to No. 18 Loras in American Rivers Conference play.

The Duhawks (11-0-1, 4-0-0 A-R-C) struck twice in the first half, taking a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute on a goal from Belle Johnson assisted by Emerson Gasmann and Katie Callahan. Ivy Wessel added to the lead in the 39th minute off a feed from Gracie Gasmann, and Loras sealed the win in the 80th when Emily Bowe converted a pass from Wessel.

Mya Jansen led the Storm (7-4-2, 3-1-0 A-R-C) with two shots as Simpson suffered its first conference blemish of the year.
