NWU mounts second half comeback to topple Storm

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Nebraska Wesleyan mounted a second half comeback to upend the Storm at home 3-2 on Friday afternoon.

Nebraska Wesleyan (3-3-4, 1-0-1) jumped on the board first, scoring just 11 minutes in to the match. However, the lead did not hold for long, as Simpson's (3-5-5, 0-2-0) Mitchell Dickson responded with a goal just minutes later to equalize the match. The goal marked the sixth of the season for Dickson, a team-leading mark and tied for second most in the conference.

Later in the half, Iain Macrae, off an assist from Tim Sedlock, put Simpson in the driver's seat, scoring his fourth goal of the season to take a 2-1 lead. The lead held throughout the first half until the 54th minute mark of the second half.

Nebraska Wesleyan's Max Matthies singlehandly led the comeback, scoring the tying goal nine minutes into the second half. Then ten minutes later, Matthies struck again, this time for the eventual game-winner to secure the 3-2 result over the Storm.
