Simpson's barrage leads to 3-0 win over Cornell

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Simpson unleashed a barrage on Cornell, firing 32 shots with Zach Kline finding the back of the net twice, as the Storm rolled past the Rams 3-0 on Friday night.

Simpson (3-3-3) did not suffer from lack of opportunities, connecting on 15 shots in the first half, with four landing on net. However, it wasn't until the 52nd minute when Simpson finally managed to punch through.

Zach Kline connected on his second goal of the year, with an assist from Allan Martinez, to put Simpson on the board, in what turned out to be the game-winning goal. Mitchell Dickson struck for his fourth goal, assisted by Tim Sedlock, in the 71st minute to extend the lead to 2-0. Kline once again added to the lead, this time in the 81st minute off an assist from Omar Amer, to ice the match at 3-0 and his third goal of the season.

Simpson's 32 shots marked the most for the Storm since they posted 36 against Buena Vista at home on Oct. 5, 2022. Nate Hersom went the full 90 minutes in the net, earning his third clean sheet of 2025.
