INDIANOLA, Iowa - An early goal from Bethel proved to be the difference maker in Simpson's 1-0 loss on Saturday afternoon inside Buxton stadium.
A long outlet pass on the near side of the field, followed by a cross to cutting Jordan Ross at the top of the box was the lone goal of the match. Bethel (4-0-2) took the lead in just the ninth minute, and held off a relentless attack from Simpson (2-3-3) to escape with a 1-0 result.
Ten different Storm players recorded at least one shot, led by Tim Sedlock's three, as Simpson collected 15 shots over the match. Despite outpacing Bethel 15-to-11 in shots, the Storm were unable to capitalize for an equalizer on the three that were on target. Simpson earned four corners, all coming in the first half.
