Six reach double figures, Storm beat Faith Baptist 104-58

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Ben Rajewski scored 14 points to lead six players in double figures and the Simpson men's basketball team beat Faith Baptist Bible 104-58 on Saturday.

Tyler Stumbo and Nick Janssen scored 13 points apiece for the Storm (7-2), who went 15-for-30 from 3-point range in the final home game of the first semester. Janssen went 5-for-6 from the field and handed out three assists in his first career start.

Without the services of starting point guard and leading scorer Conor Riordan, Simpson managed its highest point total in a winning effort since the 2014-15 season when the Storm beat Grinnell 104-101 on Dec. 13.

Following three consecutive conference games, Simpson got ahead early and stayed ahead against the National Christian College Athletic Association program.

John Barbee's fast-break dunk early in the first half brought the crowd to its feet as the Storm opened the game on a 22-4 run. Kenton Thoms also had an emphatic dunk while Rajewski and Kyle Wagner connected from 3.

Kalab Sidlinger scored a game-high 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting for the Eagles (3-5), who played Simpson for the first time.

Thoms finished with 12 points, Alec Hinson added 11 and Kyle Wagner had 10. Hinson went 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and Wagner went 4-for-5 from the field. Barbee had nine points and seven assists with just two turnovers.

All 15 players in uniform saw playing time and 13 got into the scoring column for the Storm, who take a three-game winning streak into next week's final exams.
