Coming in at No. 9 in our countdown of the top 10 highlights of the 2013-14 season is the women's basketball team and it's thrilling, buzzer-beating win at Dubuque on Jan. 29.

Simpson trailed Dubuque 54-52 with 2 seconds left when Whitney Van Wyk went to the free throw line. Van Wyk made her first attempt and missed the second, but the Storm retained possession after the ball was kicked out of bounds by Dubuque.

With just enough time to catch and shoot, Morgan Terpstra inbounded to freshman post, Markayla Mahr. Known more for her defensive prowess than her scoring ability, the rookie calmy knocked down a 16-foot jumper to give Simpson a 55-54 win on the road. The win was the sixth in a row for the Storm, who moved into second place in the league standings.

Mahr finished the game with four points and five blocks.
