Booth punches ticket to the NCAA National Championships
INDIANOLA, Iowa – A two-time all-region selection, Teghan Booth is officially heading to the NCAA National Championships as announced Sunday by the NCAA.
After crossing the finish line in 12th place at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday, Booth secured her spot in the individual qualifier list after she ran a personal best time of 22:03.1. Her 12th place finish was the best by any Simpson runner since Catie Ellingson took second in 2010.
"What a day for Teghan Booth", said head coach Heath Moenck. "After narrowly missing the NCAA Championships a year ago, to see her punch her ticket was very gratifying. She's invested so much into this program, and it will be great to have her represent Simpson College on the national stage. Our entire women's program had a terrific season with lots to be proud of."
Booth was one of three individual runners to qualify out of the American Rivers Conference, joined by two runners from Central. She will compete at the national championships next Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind.
