Storm turn in strong performance at Dan Huston Invite

WAVERLY, Iowa — Sadie Timms and Courtney Neuendorf clocked in top-20 finishes to lead the Simpson women's cross country team to a sixth place finish of 13 teams at Wartburg's Dan Huston Invitational on Saturday.

The Storm finished with 180 points, 12 behind Monmouth and Central who tied for fourth. Division I Northern Iowa took the title with 40 points.

Timms led the team for the fourth time in as many meets, navigating the 6k course in 23:41.5 as the Storm ran championship distance for the first time in 2017. Timms ran her fastest 6k time since 2015.

Neuendorf placed 19th in 24:01.7, the second-fastest 6k of her career. Junior Shelby Hunemiller cracked the top 50 by finishing in 25:32.8.
