Timms, Neuendorf lead women’s cross country in season-opening win
INDIANOLA, Iowa — Sadie Timms ran away with a convincing win to lead the Simpson women's cross country team to a win at the season-opening Buxton Invitational on Friday evening at Pickard Park.
Timms crossed the finish line 26 seconds ahead of the next competitor to cruise to victory, running 16:14 at the 4k loop. Courtney Neuendorf finished fourth overall (third in the team scoring) and the Storm placed four runners in the top 10.
Simpson finished with 25 points, comfortably ahead of Hawkeye CC's 45. Grand View took third (75) and Des Moines Area CC rounded out the field in fourth (88).
