Women’s cross country takes home academic award for 10th straight year

INDIANOLA, Iowa — For the 10th year in a row the Simpson women's cross country team has earned the title of All-Academic Team from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

For a team to be considered for this distinction, it must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum team GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale.

A total of 216 teams from Division III were recognized.

Seven members of the team were named to the All-Iowa Conference Academic Team in the fall: Lauren Beckman, Mandy Brown, Shelby Hunemiller, Jessica Lamb, Briana McCloskey, Sadie Timms and Mary Wood.
