Women’s cross country finishes seventh at IIAC Championship

STORM LAKE, Iowa — Sadie Timms ran a gritty race to lead the women's cross country team to a seventh place finish at the Iowa Conference Championship at Sunrise Golf Course on Saturday.

The Storm finished with 187 points, behind Dubuque's 148. Conference newcomer Nebraska Wesleyan won the conference title with 40 points, placing four runners in the top 10.

"It wasn't our best day, but the women still gave a great effort," head coach Heath Moenck said. "A lot of credit goes to Sadie for competing the way she did today. It's been a rough six weeks of training for her."

Competing in just her third meet of the season due to lingering injuries, Timms finished 31st in 24:18.5 to pace the Storm. Courtney Neuendorf wasn't far behind, finishing 37th overall in 24:32.7.

Briana McCloskey, Shelby Hunemiller, Morgan Moline, Jessica Gronke, and Ashlee Litterer rounded out Simpson's varsity finishers.
