Women’s cross country has strong showing at Running of the Cows

NORTHFIELD, Minn. — Courtney Neuendorf led the Simpson women's cross country team to a 13th-place finish at the Running of the Cows hosted by Carleton on Saturday.

Simpson finished with 315 points. Carleton won the 15-team race with 47 points.

Neuendorf ran 23:55.5 to place 20th in the field of 267 runners. The time was her career best, marking her first run under 24 minutes.

"Both squads showed improvement from last week," head coach Heath Moenck said. "I'm excited to see what both teams are able to accomplish when fully healthy."

Briana McCloskey was the Storm's No. 2 finisher, running 24:39.7 to place 47th. Shelby Hunemiller ran 25:23.4 to place 90th, Jessica Gronke ran 25:57.3 to place 118th and Ashley Litterer ran 26:27.7 to place 151st. Lesley Roquet (154th) and Morgan Moline (169th) rounded out the Storm's top seven
