Neuendorf leads Storm women at Brissman/Lundeen Invite

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Courtney Neuendorf paced the Simpson women's cross country team at a loaded Brissman/Lundeen Invitational on Friday evening, leading the Storm to 21st of 24 teams.

Neuendorf placed 42nd in the field of 370 finishers, navigating the 6-kilometer course at Saukie Golf Course in 24:03.9. The junior ran 45 seconds faster than she did at the same meet last season, when she placed 132nd.

Briana McCloskey was the other only other Storm runner to finish in the top 100, placing 62nd in 24:23.5.

The Storm finished with 521 points in their first 6k competition of the season. The invitational featured two races, one for the Blue Division and one for the Gold Division. Simpson ran in the Blue Division, the faster of the two.
