CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Jacqueline Luth had a match-high 16 kills but the Simpson volleyball team couldn't come back after spotting Coe two sets on Tuesday, falling in four.
Simpson forced a fourth set with a 25-23 win in set three, but a comeback wasn't in the cards as Coe prevailed 25-15, 25-16, 23-25, 25-15.
The reigning Iowa Conference Player of the Week, Luth had 16 kills in 67 attempts for the Storm (8-10, 1-4 IIAC). Alyssa Mathews added 35 assists.
Lindsey Koch matched Luth with 16 kills to lead the Kohawks (15-7, 3-1), who hit .281 as a team compared to .097 for the Storm.

Simpson is off until next Tuesday, Oct. 11 when it travels to Grinnell for a non-conference contest.
