Storm dismantle Grinnell in three

GRINNELL, Iowa – Simpson made quick work of Grinnell on Wednesday night, winning 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-16) in a match that lasted only an hour and 10 minutes.

Simpson seemed to get stronger as the match went on, notching 17 kills in the final frame. Grinnell on the other hand hit just -0.10 as the Tigers fell to 0-2 on the year.

The Storm (3-4) were led by sophomore Jacqueline Luth, who recorded a game-high 11 kills to go with 13 digs. Senior Tabitha Blaser hit an efficient .421 as she chipped in with nine kills of her own and a team-high two aces.

Senior Olivia Sulentic played a balanced match, contributing with eight assists and a team-best 18 digs.

Simpson is off on Thursday, Sept. 10 before heading to Aurora, Ill. for the Jim Coleman Invitational, hosted by Aurora University. First on the slate for the Storm is Benedictine University (Ill.) at 2 p.m. on Friday in match one of four on the weekend.
