Volleyball drops pair on first day in Illinois

DECATUR, Ill. - The Simpson volleyball team dropped both of its matches on the first day of the Linda Slagell Dig for the Cure, losing to Wisconsin-Platteville and Wheaton (Ill.) by identical 3-1 scores.

Simpson fell to to Platteville, 23-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-12. Set scores were not available for the Wheaton match.

UW-Platteville 3, Simpson 1

Tabitha Blaser led the Storm with 14 kills, hitting .205 in the loss. Elisa Wildy and Olivia Sulentic added seven kills apiece and Katie Kieffer finished with 29 assists.
