DUBUQUE, Iowa – Tabitha Blaser had 15 kills but the Simpson volleyball team couldn't finish off a two-set lead, losing 3-2 (26-24, 25-22, 19-25, 19-25, 14-16) to Dubuque in the conference finale on Tuesday.
Klaudia Basierak had a game-high 18 kills for the Spartans (15-19, 4-3 Iowa Conference), who scored 20 points off blocks.
Blaser hit .262 for the game as she continued to thrive against conference foes. The freshman is hitting a team-best .233 in league play.
Steph Keller had 12 kills for the Storm (9-21, 1-6), who will miss the Iowa Conference Tournament. Katie Kieffer handed out a game-high 44 assists and Audrey Schuttler had 35 digs.
Simpson closes the season this weekend at the Augustana (Ill.) Invitational.
