Storm fall to No. 15 Wartburg

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Bailey Wilson and Britlyn Sieck had 10 kills apiece and 15th-ranked Wartburg hit .312 as a team in a 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-21) win over the Simpson volleyball team Wednesday night.

McKaylie Croghan had 10 kills and hit a match-high .304 for the Storm (3-12, 1-2 Iowa Conference), who showed improvement from last week's loss to Luther.

Simpson committed 13 fewer attack errors – 19 – than it did against the Norse, but didn't have an answer for a powerful Wartburg front line that ranked third in the nation in kills per set coming in.

Wilson hit .714 for the match and Sieck hit .364. Ramey Sieck led the way with 35 assists.

Croghan added three blocks and Katie Kieffer had 28 assists to go along with three blocks of her own for Simpson.

The Storm travel to Grinnell on Saturday, Sept. 29 for the Grinnell Triangular. Simpson is scheduled to face Knox at 1 p.m. and Grinnell at 3.
