Simpson Volleyball Takes Part in Dig Pink Rally

INDIANOLA, Iowa – When the Simpson volleyball team takes on rival Central at Cowles Fieldhouse Wednesday night, it is doing than just playing a volleyball match – the team is helping in the fight against breast cancer.

Dig Pink is a Breast Cancer Awareness Rally being held all of October to raise awareness and funds. Every year Dig Pink wants to make a statement by holding hundreds, potentially thousands, of featured High School and College matches across the country to help educate and raise funds to eradicate this terrible disease. Proceeds will go towards doing something significant and identifiable in the fight against Breast Cancer.

Last year, 330 high school and college teams helped raise $390,000, with more help expected this year. In 2009, Dig Pink hopes to raise $1,000,000 from over 1,000 teams participating in the rally.

You can take part in the program by attending Wednesday's game, which is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
