Neuendorf wins 3k to pace Storm at Grinnell

GRINNELL, Iowa — Courtney Neuendorf won the 3,000 meters and the 4x200 relay team finished second to lead the Simpson women's track and field team at the Darren Young Invitational on Saturday.

Neuendorf finished the 3k in 10:58.77, edging Hannah Penn of Augustana by just 3 seconds to take home first-place. This was her first win in the event in her career at Simpson.

The 4x200 relay team of Elizabeth Burgus, MacKenzie James, Katie Clarke, and Katelyn Mangold finished in 1:52.78 narrowly behind Wartburg for second-place. This was the fastest run of the season, edgining out last week's performance at Wartburg of 1:53.32.

The distance medley relay team finished fifth, crossing the line with a time of 13:58.69. This marks the first group to compete in the distance medley relay on the season.
