4x400, Glanz lead Storm at UNI

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The 4x400-meter relay team brought home a first-place finish and Jamie Glanz jumped to a third-place effort to lead the Simpson women's track and field team at the UNI Jack Jennett Open on Friday.

The 4x400 relay team of Katelyn Mangold, MacKenzie James, Jaycie Owens, and Katie Clarke finished in 4:28.17 to edge Hawkeye CC at the line. The win marks Simpson's first in a relay event in almost a year. The Storm won the 4x400 relay at the Simpson/Central Dual on Feb. 17 last season.

Glanz finished third in the high jump by clearing 4-feet, 11-inches, narrowly edging her performance at Nebraska Wesleyan last weekend of 4-feet, 10-inches.

Kate Derrick added a fourth-place finish in the 600 meters (1:58.70) and Mangold ook sixth in the 400 meter (1:04.16). Emily Buchheit posted her top performance of the year in the mile with a time of 5:38.54, good for seventh.
