LoVan ties pole vault record at Jim Duncan Invitational

DES MOINES, Iowa — Audrey LoVan tied her own school record in the pole vault to lead the Simpson women's track and field team at the Jim Duncan Invitational this weekend. 

LoVan cleared 9-feet, 8-inches on the pole vault to match her own school record set back in 2015. She cleared on her first attempt, but couldn't reach the next notch. Her mark is currently ninth in the Iowa Conference.

Alex Niemier placed eighth in the shot put with a heave of 37-10 3/4, Jackie Cullinan came in ninth in the javelin with a throw of 80-4 and Courtney Neuendorf came in ninth in the 3,000 steeplechase (12:50.11) to round out Simpson's top-10 finishes.
