CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The Simpson women's track and field team competed on a Friday for the second week in a row when it traveled to the UNI-Dome for the Jack Jennett Invitational.

Simpson went up against a field that included athletes from Division I, Division III and NAIA. No team scores were kept.

Courtney Neuendorf led a trio of milers in the top 10, finishing second in 5:29.51, a little over 3 seconds behind the Iowa State Running Club's Katlyn Ableidinger. Briana McCloskey finished third (5:43.58) and Shelby Hunemiller took ninth (5:48.76).

Audrey LoVan's busy day was highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the pole vault, in which she cleared 8-feet, 6 1/4 inches. She was also the Storm's top finisher in the 60 meters (13th) and 200 meters (14th).

Rebecca Jensen secured the last lane for the 60-meter hurdle finals, then set a personal-best by running 10.18 to take eighth. Her previous best was 10.26 set at last year's IIAC Indoor Championships.

Jaycie Owens and Jessica Gronke added 10th-place finishes in the 400 and 600 meters, respectively.
