Well-rounded performance by Galbraith leads Storm women at Grinnell Invite

GRINNELL, Iowa - Sarah Galbraith turned in three, top-eight performances and the Simpson women's track and field team placed 10th at the Grinnell Invitational on Saturday.

Galbraith had Simpson's top performance of the day, taking third in the 600 meters (1:47.44). She added a fifth-place finish in the high jump (4-10 1/4), seventh in the long jump (15-6) and 10th in the 60-meter hurdles (10.28).

"I'm really proud of both teams," head coach Dave Cleveland said. "We grew today and had tons of season bests. This young team is starting to figure out how to compete at a high level."

The Storm got a solid showing from a trio of runners in the Mile. Courtney Neuendorf came in fifth (5:30.19), Sadie Timms placed sixth (5:30.88) and Breanna Gaster took eighth (5:38.01).

Mary Doherty added a fifth-place performance in the pole vault, clearing 8-feet, 1/2 inches.

The 4x200-meter relay team of Elizabeth Burgus, Mackenzie James, Keeghan Corcoran and Audrey LoVan had the best relay finish, coming in second in 1:55.38.
