Morningside trims Simpson in 4-3 match

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Simpson College women's tennis continued its spring slate on Sunday in nonconference action to drop a 4-3 match at Morningside.

Anna Wanek and Emily King continued their impressive season as a pair as they secured a 6-3 triumph at No. 1 doubles for the Storm (8-5). The Mustangs (7-6) were able to earn the doubles point by winning the No. 2 and 3 pairs.

Wanek had a battle at No 1 singles. After cruising to a 6-2 win in set one, the junior had to go to a tiebreaker to win 7-6 (5-0) to remain undefeated this season. King collected 6-4, 6-3 set wins for her fifth-straight match victory.

Donni Kinghorn grabbed a 6-1, 6-0 match triumph at No. 5 singles. Megan Grubb won the first set at No. 3 singles before dropping the second to force a third frame. Grubb was unable to win in the only three-set battle of the contest.
