Reusche, Kuebler lead Storm at A-R-C Individual Championship
ANKENY, Iowa -- Kayla Reusche and Kelly Kuebler advanced to the quarterfinal round in their respective singles brackets to lead the Simpson women's tennis team at the American Rivers Conference Individual Tournament on Oct. 12.
Reusche received a bye in the first round of the A-Singles bracket before defeating Central's Jenna Stewart 6-1, 6-2. She got out to a quick start with a 6-2 win over Loras' Audrey Hinz in the quarterfinal round before dropping the final two sets, 6-4, 10-4 to bring her run to a close.
Competing in the B-Singles bracket, Kuebler earned an 8-4 win over Central's Sami Thompson in the first round before advancing to the quarterfinals with a win by default. Her run ended with a loss to Luther's Elli Hemker.
The team of Reusche and Emily King earned an 8-6 win over Coe's Ella White and Lakyn Boltz 8-6 in the first round of the A-Doubles bracket, but lost a tough tie-breaker in the quaterfinals. Luther's Britta Pressler and Shelby Cook prevailed 8-7 (7-4).
