Storm start strong, finish strong in win over Northwestern

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson women's tennis team used a strong doubles showing en-route to a 7-2 win over Northwestern (IA) on Friday afternoon.

Playing in their first home match of the spring, the Storm (9-10) swept the doubles competition to fuel the win.

The team of Tiffany Bost and Allison Anderson handled Frankie Eszes and Jami Koens 8-2 at No. 1, Lindsay Nash and Kelli Ehrhardt posted another 8-2 win over Terry Odera and Missy Yorchak at No. 2 and Lauren Schemmel and Michelle Hartman snuck by Hannah Stark and Amanda Bueltel 8-6 at No. 3.

Anderson, Nash, Ehrhardt and Hartman all added singles victories. Anderson cruised past Odera at No. 2 (6-1, 6-3), Nash beat Koens at No. 3 (6-1, 7-5), Ehrhardt topped Stark at No. 4 (6-3, 6-2) and Hartman had little trouble with Bueltel at No. 6 (6-2, 6-2).

Simpson's match at Graceland scheduled for Saturday, April 6 has been postponed.
