Storm pick up two league wins

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson women's tennis team emphatically snapped a three-match losing streak with a pair of conference wins on Saturday, beating Loras and Dubuque.

The Storm (3-3, 3-1 Iowa Conference) looked strong all day, beating Loras 8-1 and Dubuque 7-2.

"Overall, the girls played well today," head coach Lindsay Chase said. "We got off to early leads in doubles in both matches, which was key. That gave us momentum going into singles."

Simpson swept the doubles competition from Loras and took 2 of 3 against Dubuque.

Three players – Allison Anderson, Lindsay Nash and Kelli Ehrhardt – went undefeated.

Michelle Hartman picked up two singles wins at the No. 6 spot, Tiffany Bost went 3-1, Lauren Schemmel went 2-2 and Rami Vokt went 1-1 at doubles, teaming with Schemmel.

The Storm host Central on Tuesday, Sept. 11. Start time is set for 4 p.m.
